Terms of service
Last updated 24 September 2026
Written in plain language to describe exactly how LimeLight works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer; if anything here is unclear, write to us and we will answer.
These terms are the agreement between you and LimeLight (“we”) for using the website, the studio and any paid plan or pass. By using LimeLight or creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy.
What LimeLight is
LimeLight turns a song and artwork into a music video. Rendering happens in your browser on your own computer: your audio, images and footage are not uploaded to our servers to make a video. A few optional features send something out, and the privacy policy lists each one.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use LimeLight or create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you. You need an account only to buy a plan or a pass and to keep it; keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your music, your video
You keep every right to the music, artwork, footage, fonts and words you bring, and you own the videos you export. We claim nothing in them. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you bring: a video of someone else's song, cover or footage is your responsibility, not ours.
Commercial use, on every plan — Free included. If you own the music (or have the rights to it), you may use the videos you export commercially: monetised uploads, ads, promotion, sale. The Free plan's only difference is the three-second “Made with LimeLight” card at the end; the paid plans and the release pass export without it. Making videos for other people's music as a paid service — for clients and labels — is what the Studio plan is for.
Songs made with AI music services. Their terms decide what you may do with the song itself. Suno, for example, keeps the rights to songs made on its free plan and allows them only for personal, non-commercial use; songs made while on its paid plans are yours to release and monetise, and subscribing later does not change songs made before. Check the service's current terms before you release or monetise a video of such a song.
Plans, renewal and cancelling
The Free plan is free for as long as you like. Creator (US$10 a month or US$96 a year) and Studio (US$25 a month or US$240 a year) are subscriptions billed through Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the price shown when you subscribed, and your card is charged each time until you cancel. By subscribing you agree to that renewal. You can cancel at any time, online: on your Account page, “Payment, invoices and cancellation” opens Stripe's customer portal, where you can cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and then your account returns to Free. Stripe sends a receipt for every payment. If a price changes, we will tell paying customers before their next renewal, and the new price applies only from that renewal. If a payment fails, the account may return to Free until it is paid.
One-off purchases
A release pass (US$4, once) lets you export one song with the Creator plan's finish — up to 1440p, every format, 60 fps, no end card. It sits on your account until you use it, does not expire, and is spent once that export has saved a file — not when a render starts, so a render that saves nothing costs you nothing. A lifetime seat (Creator for life), when we offer one, is a single payment for that plan's features for as long as LimeLight is offered; it does not renew and is not transferable.
Refunds
A release pass that has been spent is not refundable, and we do not refund the unused part of a subscription period after you cancel. Anything else — a charge you did not expect, an unused pass, a renewal you meant to cancel — write to olkona75@gmail.com and we will look at it; the owner decides refunds case by case and answers every request. Nothing here takes away a refund right that the law where you live gives you.
Acceptable use
Do not use LimeLight to:
- make or share videos of music, artwork, footage or trademarks you have no right to use;
- publish looks, names or text that are illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual involving minors, or that impersonate someone;
- break the law or the rules of the platforms you post to;
- attack, overload, scrape or probe the service, get around a plan's limits, or resell access to it;
- use another person's account or payment details.
We may remove a published look, and suspend or close an account, that breaks these rules.
Shared looks
When you publish a look you give everyone the right to use it in their own videos, and us the right to show it on LimeLight (its own page, the community library and search engines). A look carries only settings, never your media. Anyone can report a look; we read reports and hide looks that break these terms.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on LimeLight infringes your copyright, see our copyright (DMCA) policy. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
Posting to other platforms
When you post from the studio you act under your own account on that platform and its terms apply. Posting to YouTube means you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's Privacy Policy covers what Google does with your data.
The service
We work hard to keep LimeLight fast and available, and we may change or remove features over time, but it is provided as is, without warranties beyond those the law requires. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Keep your own copies of your songs, artwork and videos: projects live in your browser, and clearing it removes them.
Ending
You can stop using LimeLight and delete your account at any time from your Account page (see deleting your data). Deleting an account with a live subscription cancels it.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so on this page and, for paying customers, by email before it takes effect.
